Elton Jantjies hints at rugby return – and Siya Kolisi approves
Controversial ex Springbok Elton Jantjies has hinted at a rugby return after a difficult year – and publicly showing support is Siya Kolisi.

Despite having an alleged doping scandal hanging over his head, former Springbok Elton Jantjies has hinted at making a rugby comeback. And backing him are members of the squad, including captain Siya Kolisi.
The controversial player has made headlines in the past year over a series of scandals, including allegations of infidelity, a public marriage split, a stint in rehab, and testing positive for a banned substance.
To add insult to injury, Elton’s ex, Ashleigh Ogle, recently accused him of being abusive during their three-month relationship.

ELTON JANTJIES TO MAKE A SPRINGBOK COMEBACK?
In an Instagram post, Elton Jantjies hinted that a professional rugby career may be back on his cards.
Posting a clip of himself during a training session, he said: “We’re just manifesting, baby! He’s back! ….. A few more weeks, and we’ll be back.”
The post was liked by several Springbok players, including Ox Nche and captain Siya Kolisi.

Elton is currently in Turkey, where he is visiting his estranged wife, Iva Ristic, and their three children.
The infamous flyhalf courted controversy last year after he confessed to having an affair with Springbok dietician Zeenat Simjee, who outright denied it. The alleged tryst led to the breakdown of his marriage to Iva, whom he has yet to divorce.

However, in August this year, Elton and entertainer Ashleigh Ogle went “public” with their romance. They split barely three months later on bitter terms.
RETURN TO LIONS?
With Elton Jantjies and French club Agen reportedly parting ways, many are wondering what his next move is.
After a stint at Japan’s Red Hurricanes in 2021, Elton revealed that he had signed with Agen in late 2022.
However, just a few months later, the father-of-three returned to Mzansi and was left off much of the 2023 club roster.
In August, Elton revealed he had tested positive for the banned substance, Clenbuterol. He has vowed to prove his innocence.

According to SA Rugby Mag, Elton is rumoured to return to his old club of the Lions next season.
Jantjies – who has not addressed the rumours – played for the Gauteng team from 2014 – 2020.
