Coordinator ‘master of everything’ in AKA’s murder arrested

The SAPS has confirmed that six suspects have been arrested, including the coordinator ‘master of everything’ in connection with AKA’s murder.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that six suspects have been arrested for the murder of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello’ Tibz’ Motsoane.

The two were shot at point blank on 10 February 2023 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

KZN SAPS Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, gave a briefing on the recent arrests. He confirmed that four suspects are in custody in South Africa, with the other two suspects still in Eswatini waiting for repatriation.

However, the police have confirmed that the coordinator’ master of everything’ in AKA’s murder, who paid the suspects, is also in custody.

The police also made it known that there is no clear picture yet of whether the person who executed the plan was the mastermind or someone was also giving him some calls.

However, the SAPS revealed that the coordinator assembled and paid all the suspects. Among the six suspects are two shooters, two spotters, a coordinator, and the organiser of firearms and vehicles.

All suspects will appear before the court on Thursday. However, the police have yet to share more details about the court proceedings. The police revealed that they had a strong case against the suspects.

RUMOURED PAYMENTS

News outlets in Eswatini have established that AKA’s murder suspects were paid R800 000. Rumour mill has it that there is transactional evidence to show for it. However, against the reports, the SAPS did not disclose the alleged amount paid to the suspects.

KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said the coordinator’ master of everything’ paid all the suspects, but the amount “wasn’t much.” After all, life is greater than anything money can afford.

The police also revealed that AKA was the main target, with his friend, Tibz, caught in the crossfire.
