Pictures of a young pageant queen Bryoni Govender – who will be representing South Africa at Miss Universe on Sunday, 19 November – have re-emerged. And it’s easy to see that the beautiful and intelligent woman has eyed the crown for the longest time.
Bryoni has a string of pageant titles to her name after years in the industry. Will she add the biggest one to her collection?

BRYONI – FROM YOUNG QUEEN TO MISS UNIVERSE?
In pics posted on social media, a young Bryoni Govender is seen participating in various pageants around the country.
According to Pageant SA, the bronzed beauty – the Miss SA 2023 runner-up – has been an avid pageant queen since a young girl.
In 2013, the long-legged law graduate won the Miss Junior SA title at just 17.

According to Kempton Express, Bryoni not only won Miss Junior SA but Miss Gauteng in 2015. She also won Eastgate Look of Fashion in 2017.
Despite being placed in the top two positions of the national competition, it’s also not the women’s rights activist’s first attempt in the pageant world.

In 2018, she made the Top 12 of the Miss SA finals, of which Tamaryn Green would go on to win.
NATASHA JOUBERT’S MESSAGE OF SUPPORT
Meanwhile, Natasha Joubert has shared a message of support for her runner-up, who will participate in the Miss Universe finals this weekend.
In an Instagram post, Natasha – Bryoni’s pageant roommate, shared: “I have absolutely no doubt that you are going to make us so proud! Go show them what South Africa is made of, our golden girl!”.
Bryoni affectionately responded: “My queen. Thank you for the support”.
