PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA ON 30 YEARS OF DEMOCRACY

South Africa celebrates 30 years of democracy this year as the country’s first democratic election was held in April 1994, the SA government website reported.

“We must consider just how far we have come from an era where the educational prospects of young black men and women were greatly diminished… Much has changed,” President Cyril Ramaphosa was quoted as saying.

LEBO MATHOSA AND THEMBI SEETE ON THE ‘FELICIA SHOW’

Legendary TV host Felicia Mabuza-Suttle reflected on one of her many memories from her TV show, The Felicia Show. Taking to Instagram, she posted a throwback video interviewing Thembi Seete and the late South African musician Lebo Mathosa.

“Lovely memories as we look back #30YrsIntoDemocracySA. I used to enjoy talking to our young artist. The #FeliciaShow was also all about sharing their talent and hearing their stories. I believe #LeboMathosa was clarifying a report that she was splitting from #BoomShaka. RIP Lebo. We miss you,😪” Mabuza-Suttle wrote.

“Wow @thembiseete_ still looking great💃🏾,” she added.

Mathosa died at the age of 29 on 23 October 2006. Her death was confirmed by her manager at the time, Linzy Cowley, who said Mathosa was riding in a car that veered off a road and crashed shortly after midnight, the New York Post reported.

According to IOL, a witness said he didn’t see any mark on her body. “I didn’t expect her to die; I didn’t realise her injuries were that serious. There was just a little blood on her face. I went up to her and asked her if she was all right. She groaned,” the witness was quoted as saying.
