‘Too young to make errors’ – Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen’s age revealed

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen is topping trends after his age was revealed in the backdrop of his MTN8 semifinal mistake.

Brandon Petersen has been topping trends in the backdrop of Kaizer Chiefs’ defeat in the MTN8 semifinals against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Soweto giants keeper made an error which gave Sundowns an early lead 10 seconds into the game. Sundowns went on to win 2-1.

BRANDON PETERSEN’S AGE REVEALED

However, the defeat has since thrust the star into top trends, implicating his age into the mix. No doubt Chiefs fans dragged his age into the mix, and Mzansi was more than puzzled by Brandon Petersen’s age.

After all, he is younger than we thought. The 29-year-old was born on 22 September 1994 in Elsies River, Cape Town, South Africa.

He recently celebrated his birthday but did not get the perfect gift he wanted after crashing out of the MTN8 Cup.

Mzansi was more than convinced that Brandon Petersen was Too young to make errors given his age. Over the years, keepers have had the longest careers, the likes of Buffon.

However, many of them have had their prime at the age of 28 and 29, leaving many to take a swipe at Petersen. After all, some were more than convinced it was a mistake; hence, his age shouldn’t be dragged into the mix.

His career seems to be more dramatic, unlike those before him. Unconfirmed reports have it that he was into rugby and was a right-wing midfielder when he switched the floor to football.

CAREER

Rumour mill said he started his career in 2013 as a midfielder at 18. At 19, he had a career-threatening injury that took a toll on his career.

However, he later tried his luck on goal after his injury; the rest was history. He has been winning big at goal and has since become Kaizer Chiefs first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Itumeleng Khune.

With a career spanning years, he has become one of the best goalkeepers in the DStv Premier League despite not winning much silverware with Kaizer Chiefs.

Brandon Petersen started his career with Trinitarians before joining Ajax Cape Town in 2013. However, despite his newfound fame, Bidvest Wits came knocking, and the star couldn’t resist the offer in 2019.

Barely a season after joining the club, he was under the Kaizer Chiefs transfer target list, and the rest was history. He has since become Kaizer Chiefs’ choice goalkeeper.
