Darlington Michaels is a celebrated South African actor who has graced the small screens for years.
The star actor is known for his gangster on-screen character of Georgie ‘Papa G’ Zamdela on Isidingo.

WHAT HAPPENED TO DARLINGTON MICHAELS?
He undoubtedly starred his on-screen character perfectly and was one of the darlings of the now-canned SABC drama series.
Best known for his sense of dressing, which included floral shirts, several gold rings, and a burst of hyena laughter, Papa G was that star actor we all loved to hate.
He was part of the drama series for 22 seasons and once dumped the show in the eleventh hour over contract woes.
He later bounced back before he kissed his on-screen Papa G on Isidingo after 16 years.

However, after his newfound fame, he disappeared from the public spotlight, leaving many trying to connect the dots about his whereabouts.
Reports had it that 2016 he took a break from small screens after a health scare. However, after years of being off the hook, Darlington Michaels bounced back with a role on the Mzansi Magic drama series Vula Vula in 2020.
He starred as Gap, and since then, he is yet to star in another big-budget drama series. However, he has also been featured on several radio and podcasts, one on King David Studio hosted by David Mashabela.

Little is known about his whereabouts but in his last public appearance; he looked sharp and fit as a fiddle.
Rumour mill has it that he owns the Melisizwe Community Theatre, and one of his famous plays is Who is to blame?
Darlington Michaels has undoubtedly managed to keep his private life, leaving many to guess. Over the years, he hasn’t had any fair share of drama despite being in the spotlight for decades.
