Controversial rapper and fashion designer Kanye West has accused athleisure brand Adidas of releasing and selling new ‘fake’ Yeezys without his consent. This comes more than a year after Kanye was dismissed from working with Adidas following his anti-Semitic outbursts on social media.
KANYE WEST SLAMS ADIDAS FOR SELLING FAKE YEEZY SNEAKERS
In a video posted to Instagram Kanye shared how Adidas is selling fake Yeezy sneakers and in turn not paying him for the sneakers he created.
“Adidas is selling fake Yeezys and not paying me and suing me at the same time,” he captioned his post on Instagram on Monday, 26 February.
The Yeezy rapper shared in the video: “Not only are they putting out fake colourways that are non-approved, they’re suing me for $250 million and they’re also not paying me for these shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on it”.
Kanye West continued: “And they’re using contract clauses and 50 years of business experience to rape an artist, one of y’all favourite artists, right in front of y’all in broad daylight”.
‘I’M NOT GETTING PAID OFF OF THEM’
Kanye also urged fans that anyone who like him and supports him as an artist will not be being these new “fake” Yeezy sneakers.
“Anybody who loves Ye would not buy these fake Yeezys”, the rapper reiterated.
West also explained that he never made the new colourways. He also shared how the athletic brand is suing him.
“I never made these color ways I’m not getting paid off of them and Adidas is suing me All these celebrities and the public will stand against a T shirt or the colour of my hat but when y’all see me have my children hidden from me or see an actual Fortune 500 company rape one of your heroes in real life don’t nobody say nothing or do nothing”, the rapper noted.
“As far as the system goes What y’all gone do now Take my album down again Freeze my accounts again Threaten people to not work with me again All the new non approved 350’s are cooorny”, Kanye added.
