American model Chanel Iman and er NFL New England Patriots’ partner Davon Godchaux have tied the knot.
CHANEL IMAN IS MARRIED!
The model and the NFL pro eloped and had a destination wedding aboard a yacht on 24 February, on the Caribbean Sea in Anguilla.
In a post to Instagram, the couple shared the news of their nuptials with a series of photo’s and videos.
According to Essence magazine, Iman and Davon met at a beach club in Miami and went public with their relationship in 2022. They got engaged in May 2023 during a vacation to Capri, Italy and reportedly had their civil wedding ceremony on the 10 January 2024 in New York City.
Iman told Vogue magazine that they could’nt wait for football season to be over, so that they could take the next steps and complete their union,
“We couldn’t wait for football season to be over so we can complete our union”, the model told Vogue magazine.
Iman and Devon welcomed their first child child together, Capri Summer Godchaux, in September last year. Essence magazine reports that their child’s name is inspired by the location engagement. Capri is Iman’s third child and Devon’s second child.
The model shares two daughters with her ex-husband Sterling Shepard, who she was married to from 2018 to 2022. Godchaux has a 7-year-old son from a previous relationship.
‘WE PLANNED THE WEDDING THE WAY WE DESIRED’
While speaking to Vogue, Iman opened up about how they were intentional about planning and creating the wedding of their dreams.
“We planned the wedding the way we desired—doing something together that we love with our kids and our blended family. This was our ideal, dream day. A handful of people attended the wedding—including my best friend and soul sister, Heidy De la Rosa—and we chartered a yacht to sail from island to island in the Caribbean Sea”, Iman shared.
Chanel Iman looked absolutely gorgeous wearing an off-the-shoulder white gown with an embroidered corset top designed by Lebanese designer, Zuhair Murad.
Despite being a happy blended family, at the last minute, Godchaux’s son was unable to make the wedding. Iman shared how “heartbreaking to find out that we would have to proceed without one of our four.”
She did however add that they will be celebrating with him later this year.
“We look forward to celebrating our union with him all together at a later date this year [though]. This celebration will continue!”, she added.
