ALEC BALDWIN FACES NEW CHARGES FOR 2021 RUST SHOOTING

The new charge that Alec Baldwin faces is in connection with the fatal 2021 Rust shooting, where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died. A source exclusively told People magazine that it has been quite “frustrating” for the actor and his wife Hilaria Baldwin.

“They had a great Christmas and New Year. Hilaria also just turned 40. This is not how they wanted to start the new year”; the source shared.

The source furthermore noted how stressful the overall ordeal has been, particularly for Alec’s wife, Hilaria.

“It’s stressful for Hilaria. It’s frustrating for them both that Alec is being recharged. They knew there was a possibility there would be a new indictment,” they noted.

The source continued: “The back and forth is hard. It’s very stressful”.

UP TO 18 MONTHS IN PRISON

In October 2021, while filming ‘Rust’ on a New Mexico set, a prop gun that Alec was holding to rehearse, was fired and killed Halyna Hutchins and injured Joel Souza, who is the director of the film.

Throughout this, Baldwin has previously reiterated that he did not pull the trigger and wasn’t aware that the gun held a live bullet. He also noted that live ammunition is supposed to be banned on sets.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer for the film, had previously pled not guilty after being charged with involuntary manslaughter. Hannah is expected to stand trial in February.

According to People magazine, the actor is now being charged with involuntary manslaughter (negligent use of a firearm) or alternatively, with involuntary manslaughter (without due caution or circumspection). This new charge comes months after Alec’s involuntary manslaughter charges were initially dropped in April 2023.

If found guilty, Alec Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison.
