South African-born billionaire Elon Musk ignored Julius Malema’s crass response to him calling on Ramaphosa to take action regarding the ‘Kill The Boer’ chant. Many believed that was simply over the matter until he headed online to condemn US newspaper The New York Times for their coverage on the subject.

After seeing the tweet, many South Africans have accused the SpaceX and Tesla founder of being anti-black and pushing an agenda.

Elon Musk has doubled down on his thoughts about the Kill The Boer struggle song which was chanted by the Economic Freedom Fighters’ Julius Malema at the party’s 10th birthday celebrations at the FNB stadium last weekend.

Taking to Twitter on Friday evening, the 51-year-old slammed The New York Times’ coverage on the matter.

He also shared a screenshot of the paper’s headline and excerpt which reads,”‘Kill the Boer’ Song Fuels Backlash in South Africa and U.S.

“Right-wing commenters claim that an old anti-apartheid chant is a call to anti-white violence, but historians and the left-wing politician who embraces it say it should not be taken literally.”

In his caption, Musk criticised the publication for “supporting calls for genocide”. Bizarrely, he also shared a link which he claims will allow people to remove the paywall on the publications articles.

The post received over 2 million views and over 39k likes at the time of publishing. Thousands of EFF supporters — or “fighters” — headed to the comment section to slam Musk as a racist.

“You are proving the narrative that any white person, particularly white male, who grew up in South Africa is a racist prick and a white supremacist with Nazi tendencies,” one app user wrote.

Another added, “It’s evident that you strongly dislike black people, and you’ve used your power to show us as uncivilized to the world, which makes your dislike even more obvious. Honestly, this behavior is unpleasant.”
