‘We conquered’: Leah completes more than 60km Tsitsikamma hike

Along with her hubby and friends awards winning singer Leah recently ‘conquered’ the more than 60km Tsitsikamma hiking trail. Watch.

It is known as one of the most challenging hiking trails in South Africa, but singer and actress Leah “conquered” the Tsitsikamma hiking trail and can proudly dust off her shoes after six days.

LEAH IS READY FOR NEXT HIKE AFTER COMPLETING TSITSIKAMMA 

Afrikaans singer, presenter, and actress Leah is best known for her gorgeous voice, good looks, and hilarious TikTok videos. But the bubbly blonde also loves to stay fit. Along with her husband, Hennie van Niekerk, and a couple of friends, the songstress took on the dreaded Tsitsikamma hiking trail after months of preparation.

Leah took to Instagram to share photos of their hike.

In the first image, Leah and her husband enjoy a cup of coffee with the misty mountains in the background.

“We came, we saw, we conquered! Tsitsikamma, what an experience! With this group of people, I can really accomplish anything. Six days, five nights, storms and pain, but our hearts are full and we saw the most beautiful things. I look forward to the next one,” she wrote.

According to the Tsitsikamma Tourist Association, the Tsitsikamma trail is 62.3km long. It Begins in Nature’s Valley and ends at either the Storms River Bridge or Village.

The six-day, unidirectional trail takes hikers through the heart of the Tsitsikamma Mountains.

As the website explains, the trail runs through the indigenous forest and mountain fynbos. Along the hiking trail, hikers explore river gorges, abundant rivers, streams and see South Africa’s national tree, the Outeniqua yellowwood, up close and personal.
