Viola Davis celebrates her 58th Birthday in Cape Town

American actress Viola Davis turned 58-years-old on Friday 11 August. In a post shared to Instagram the actress seems to have celebrated her day in the Mother City, Cape Town.

‘THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR BIRTHDAY LOVE, ENKOSI’

In her birthday post Viola shared a series of pictures of all the cakes and sweet treats she received on her birthday. In the caption of her post the EGOT actress shared her gratitude to the gift of life as well as gratitude to everything she has achieved thus far.

In closing she thanks all her friends, family and fans for all their “birthday love” and end of with a Xhosa greeting “Enkosi”, which translates to “Thank You”.

“Another year…full of revelations, joy, loss, triumphs….and another year to wake up and be grateful for it all! Thank you 58!! Thank you all for the birthday love. Enkosi!”, Viola Davis shared to her Instagram.

Based on her post it seems that the actress may be South Africa, Cape Town to be specific. One picture sees Viola being presented with a birthday sweet treat for the actress. The sweet treat in question is shaped into the African continent and highlights Cape Town, with words that notes “Viola you are here”.

LOVING MZANSI

While we may not know when or why Viola’s is in South Africa, but we do however know that she is certainly no stranger to our beloved country.

Throughout 2021 and 2022 Viola was filming the Woman King in South Africa, alongside Thuso Mbedu. Viola has also garnered a beautiful relationship with Thuso also expressing how much she loves working with the young actress.
