When it comes to memes, there are a number of high profile stars like Steve Harvey, Jacob Zuma and Tito Mboweni that continue to give us great content.

Even President Cyril Ramaphosa has been recruited as a member of the meme-on-demand club.

From hilarious facial reactions to being Photoshopped in equally funny scenarios, South African tweeps know all about funny business.

TITO MBOWENI SLAPS CHUBBY MEME

Always one to take a joke – especially when it comes to his cooking – Tito Mboweni surprised tweeps when he clapped back at a Photoshopped picture of himself.

The pic featured his likeness – but a chubbier version, à la “Nutty Professor” – being used as a meme.

Taking to Twitter, he posted: “Photoshopping people’s pictures, distorting them should be illegal! This is not me!”.

But hours later, it seems Tito Mboweni had embraced the notion of “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”.

He tweeted a pic of himself alongside a Photoshopped pic of Cyril Ramaphosa.

He captioned the pics: “In difficult and challenging times, it is good to have a moment of laughter!”

TWEEPS HIT BACK WITH MORE MEMES

Unfortunately for Tito Mboweni, all his tweet did was stroke the flames of Black Twitter.

Tweeps continued to post more hilarious memes of the former finance minister. Others used the opportunity to remind him of his less than impressive culinary skills.

“How is this a worst crime than drowning a fish, sir?”

“Drowning chicken in boiling water should also be illegal”

“This is how you will look like if you continue eating 20 tomatoes per day”
