After she was accused of being involved in fraud in November 2022, South African actress Terry Pheto’s lavish home in Gauteng went under the hammer on Thursday, 2 March.
However, it was reportedly not sold because nobody showed up to the location of the auction and now a representative from Auction Assets reportedly said they were going to be “taking offers out of hand”.
ALL ABOUT THE AUCTIONED HOUSE
According to Asset Auction, Pheto’s 502m2 home is located in Johannesburg, in the upscale suburb of Bryanston, at 77B Devonshire Avenue.
The spacious home is said to have a kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is also said to have an open-plan dining room and a separate family room and lounge.
The luxurious house reportedly features a large rooftop garden with an entertainment area. It’s said to also include a double garage and a maid’s quarters.

TERRY PHETO LINKED TO THE NATIONAL LOTTERY COMMISSION SCANDAL
In November 2022, the Pretoria High Court reportedly granted the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) a preservation order to freeze Pheto’s Bryanston home.
The actress is currently under investigation by the SIU for allegedly purchasing land and building a home with money siphoned from a non-profit organisation awarded through National Lotteries Commission (NLC).

On Thursday 2 March, her lavish home was auctioned with the starting bid of R3 million. According to Daily Sun, 28 people registered online to be part of the auction, but none of them showed up to the physical location for the auction.
A representative from Asset Auctions was quoted as saying, “Now we will take offers out of hand, and we already have two people who want to view the property on Thursday afternoon, and I am sure we will have an offer within the next week within the right region of R4 to R4.3 million.”
