‘Proud’: Springboks WAGs praise players after All Blacks loss

Springboks WAGS showed their support following the team’s loss against the All Blacks.

Despite losing a crucial match against New Zealand’s All Blacks, the Springboks captured the nation’s pride, including the praise of their loved ones.

The South African side – captained by Eben Etzebeth – lost the match 35-20 at the Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland on Saturday, 15 July.

SPRINGBOKS LOSE TO ALL BLACKS

After the high of last week’s win against Australia’s Wallabies at Loftus Versfeld, it was a devastating loss for the Springboks.

Following their defeat, the official Instagram account of the Boks posted: “It’s never easy in New Zealand, but the boys didnt give up on the fight”.

SA Rugby director Rassie Erasmus also shared his thoughts, tweeting: “Congrats to the All Blacks they were unstoppable in those first 20min. We certainly made some errors as a coaching team! 

He added: “Thanks for all the support in good and bad times we really appreciate it.”

WAGS PRAISE THEIR PARTNERS

Meanwhile, the wives of some of the Springbok players heaped praise on them for their stellar efforts.

Cheslin Kolbe’s wife Layla posted on her Instagram Stories: “So proud! Always putting his heart and soul onto the field”.

In another, she quoted a Bible scripture.

Franco Mostert’s wife, Juanri posted pics of her enjoying the match. She captioned them: “We remain proud.”

Eben Etzebeth’s wife, Anlia dedicated a post to the Springboks player’s father, who sadly died this week. She posted alongside a clip of Eben – who captained the side – “Love, strength, protection, victory.”

Post-match, Anlia shared in her IG Stories: “Well done, Bokke. What a hard game.”
