A clip of Springboks captain Siya Kolisi playfully welcoming Lukhanyo Am back to the squad has amused social media users. And according to many rugby fans, it could pose a threat to Kolisi’s Bok bestie, Eben Etzebeth.
Lukhanyo was called up to the Rugby World Cup squad following the announcement of Makazole Mapimpi’s injury earlier this week.

SIYA AND LUKHANYO AM – NEW BFFS?
While Siya Kolisi is known for his “bromance” with Eben Etzebeth, fans joked that he could potentially be trading him in for pal Lukhanyo AM.
The latest Springbok to join the Rugby World Cup squad made his first appearance at training in Toulon, France, on Wednesday, 4 October.
In a clip that has gone viral, Siya is seen playfully hugging and jumping for joy with his fellow teammate.

“Amadoda,” he is heard saying to Lukhanyo. In the background, another Bok is heard teasing: “Ma se kind.”
And Twitter – or X users – think the video will likely have Eben in his feelings.
One tweep posted: “Whoever was sharing the room with Siya Kolisi just got kicked out. Am is moving in!”. Another added: “Bye-bye, Eben!”
‘I LOVE HIM WITH ALL MY HEART’
While Siya Kolisi is happy to have Lukhanyo Am back in camp, there’s no denying he will always have a soft spot for Eben Etzebeth.
Siya told SA Rugby Mag that he met his Bok bestie years before both joined the Springboks.
He said. “We’ve come a long way together … we met at Craven Week, we were both 18.
“He’s one of the reasons I moved to Western Province and was one of the first friends I had who spoke Afrikaans.
“Our families are close, and although rugby has given us an opportunity to become friends, it extends beyond the field of play. I obviously love him with all my heart.
Siya added: “He’s a guy you can rely on on the field. He’s there in the trenches, and even when people intimidate me, he stands up for me on the field.
