Ndlovu also tells the publication that he’s aware that taking up this role might come with a lot of expectations from the fans of the educational soapie, who have their own interpretation of who Thabo Maputla is and what he means to them.

He assures fans: “I’m not trying to replace (Mamabolo). It’s impossible to do that. He did such a great job portraying this character.”

He also revealed to Daily Sun that the role was a challenging one to take on but he was excited as it would allow him to grow.

“I am super excited about this role. It’s a huge opportunity to be on a show like Skeem Saam. Going to the auditions for it was something else. At some point I thought I wasn’t going to get it as there were lots of great talents during the auditions.”
