‘Much love’: Rasta The Artist honours Dineo Ranaka with portrait
After Dineo Ranaka opened up about anxiety, depression and having suicidal thoughts Rasta The Artist honoured her with a self-made portrait.

After South African radio and reality TV personality, Dineo Ranaka announced she was suffering from extreme depression and anxiety and revealed that she was having suicidal thoughts, Zimbabwean-born Rata The Artist—real name Lebani Sirejenje took to Instagram on Monday, 29 May, and shared a portrait that he had painted in her honour.
RASTA THE ARTIST AND DINEO RANAKA
Rasta The Artist is popularly known for painting portraits of celebrities that have passed away. In the past, he has painted the late Kwaito star Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo, the late rappers Costantinos ‘Costa Titch’ Costantinos, AKA—real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, Riky Rick—real name Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, and several more.
According to a statement released by Kaya FM, on Tuesday, 23 May, Ranaka was unable to make it on-air on as she usually does for her morning slot at the radio station. Meanwhile, on her Instagram, the usually bold radio presenter voiced that she was battling with anxiety and depression to the point that she was even experiencing suicidal thoughts. She said,
“I’m trying my best not to commit suicide.”
According to the South African Federation For Mental Health, “South Africa has the third-highest suicide rate out of all African countries, at 23.5 per 100,000 population.”

RASTA THE ARTIST ON DINEO RANAKA
The popular Zimbabwean artist decided to take his time to paint a portraits of Ranaka and before sharing the artwork on his social media platforms, he penned,
“Strength and much love to you sisters @dineoranaka 🙏🏽🙏🏽”
Unfortunately, after seeing Ranaka’s portrait, netizens were not impressed with Rasta The Artist’s painting.
