Queen Consort Camilla will reportedly get a significant title change after King Charles’ coronation on 6 May at Westminster Abbey.

QUEEN CONSORT TO BE CALLED QUEEN CAMILLA
Over the past few years, and since her marriage to King Charles III, Camilla has played an integral role in the royal family. According to Buckingham Palace, apart from being King Charles’ confidant and stepmother to William and Harry, she’s also the Patron or President of over 90 charities.
Now, the Queen Consort is preparing for her most significant role yet. That of Queen. Although her official title will still be Queen Consort, Camilla will be referred to as Queen Camilla, according to a report by The Sun.
When Charles and Camilla tied the knot in 2005, the title seemed highly unlikely. But, it all changed at the end, it seems.
In a message marking the 70th anniversary of her reign, the late Queen Elizabeth said that it’s her “most sincere wish that, when the time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service,” Time reports..
This was the first time Queen Elizabeth acknowledged Camilla’s role in the monarchy in such a significant way. King Charles thanked his mother for her support, saying:
“We are deeply conscious of the honor represented by my mother’ wish. As we have sought together to serve and support Her Majesty and the people of our communities, my darling wife has been my own steadfast support throughout,” Time reports.
The publication explains that the Queen Consort title is given to the king’s wife. Although she married into the royal family, she could never inherit the throne.

A FAMILY AFFAIR
Having won over the public’s hearts since becoming the King’s wife, Camilla is known as a doting grandmother. According to The Sun, her grandchildren, who call her GaGa, might even play a role in the coronation ceremony. The details are still unknown.
Camilla has two children, Thomas Henry and Laura Rose. She has five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
