It’s been almost a decade since the brutal murder of Reeva Steenkamp at the hands of her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius on Valentine’s Day

Exactly nine years ago, the model was gunned down in the bathroom of the athlete’s house after he “mistook” her for an intruder.

But for Mzansi, time does not heal and tweeps are remembering the tragic day…

TWEEPS TARGET OSCAR PISTORIUS

On 14 February 2013, South Africans woke up to devastating and disturbing news. Oscar Pistorius had been accused of murdering his girlfriend of three months in a bloody attack.

Fast forward to today and the former Paralympian is facing parole after spending more than half of his 13 year sentence behind bars for the crime

But tweeps are reminded of Reeva Steenkamp’s death and are even blaming Oscar Pistorius for “ruining” the day of love.

“This day used to be a beautiful day before Oscar ruined it”

“Oscar Pistorius changed the face of Valentine’s, we are remembering Reeva today”

“Oscar Pistorius should def be dragged and trolled every year on Valentine’s day”

“To think Pistorius is preparing for Parole! SA justice system sucks”

“Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp was brutally murdered by her controlling and abusive boyfriend, Oscar Pistorius. Continue to rest well, Reevs. Your passing wasn’t in vain”

Meanwhile the Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation has remembered the woman behind it’s name.

The NGO for abused women shared a post on it’s Facebook account, which read: “Thank you for all the messages of support as we celebrate love today. Our love for Reeva and the blessing of her love. We miss her. Everyday”.

The charity also shared pics of Reeva’s mom, dad and sister remembering the slain star with roses for Valentine’s Day.
