Nandipha Magudumana’s bid for bail has been hailed a calculated plan by the celebrity aesthetics doctor and her criminal boyfriend Thabo Bester, claims a law expert.
The mother-of-two is back in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Monday, 4 September, where she will hear her fate later today.
According to law expert Elton Hart, who spoke to eNCA, Bester, and Magudumana are still scheming together from their prison cells. Magudumana is in custody at the Kroonstad female prison, while Bester is in Pretoria’s Kgosi Mampuru C-Max section.

IS NANDIPHA’S BAIL BID ALL PART OF THE PLAN?
Last week, Nandipha Magudumana made headlines for a number of astonishing claims made in her bail application. This includes allegations she was “forced” to flee the country by Thabo Bester, whom she expressed fear in.
She said in her affidavit: “I succumbed to the pressure due to the threats he directed at me. I complied with his instructions and was taken out of the country against my will.”
But according to Elton Hart, this is all part of a bigger plan. He shared his opinion with eNCA over the weekend: “This is a strategy that they are using. It hasn’t completely unfolded. There are still things to come.

He continued: “I believe she and Thabo discussed this for her to ‘throw me under the bus because if you get bail, you can do certain things for me while you are on bail.’”
Meanwhile, body language Tania Steyn expert told eNCA in another segment that Nandipha’s demeanour suggested she was putting on a “performance” for the court.

She said: “It’s all pretend, she knows the cameras are watching her. I do feel like she is sad, but it’s sadness for herself. She’s not showing remorse.
Of Nandipha shedding tears in court, Steyn said: “She wanted us to see she is crying, so that to me says it is fake. She is crying for sympathy. She’s starting to realise people do not believe her; she needs to perform now”.

LYING UNDER OATH?
Meanwhile, an investigating officer has claimed that Nandipha has made a number of slip-ups in her bail application.
This includes;
Her claims she was “kidnapped”
He said: “Through a thorough investigation, I have established that the applicant was the one who drove from Johannesburg to fetch accused five [Thabo Bester] in waZulu-Natal.”
Her claims that she worked as a medical doctor with the Department of Health, as mentioned in a previous affidavit.
At the time of her arrest, Nandipha was practising unlawfully through her private practice after being suspended in 2021 by the Health Practitioners Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

Her claims that she had no other charges against her
According to the IO, Nandipha has several pending charges against her.
He said: “She has criminal cases of fraud of R15 million, R500 000, R112 million, and R900k, and she also has to prosecute in civil claims.”
