South African-born billionaire Elon Musk‘s transgender daughter had cut all contact with him and no longer takes his surname – here’s what we know about their estranged relationship.

Pretoria-born billionaire Elon Musk only learnt that his daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson transitioned from a second-hand source. His brother’s wife got a text from his 19-year-old saying “Hey, I’m transgender, and my name is now Jenna. Don’t tell my dad,” according to revealed in an except for the upcoming biography Elon Musk published in the Wall Street Journal.

Musk said he was “generally sanguine” with his child’s decision until in April 2022 when Wilson “became a fervent Marxist and broke off all relations with him.”

The billionaire’s child, who legally changed her name and gender in June 2022, now goes as Vivian Jenna Wilson. The 19-year-old dropped Musk’s surname to take on her mom’s surname – Wilson.

According to Reuters she said “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

In the upcoming biography, Musk stated that Vivian does not want to spend time with him and thinks everyone rich is evil.

“She went beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil,” he said as he noted that he made “many overtures” but “he doesn’t want to spend time with me.”

This comes after Musk was in hot water for his comments on pronouns back in 2020. He wrote on Twitter: “I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.”

ELON MUSK: FATHER OF 10

Musk is a father of 10, here’s a quick look at his kids, ex-wife and “baby mamas”.

• Musk welcomed his first child Nevada with ex-wife Justine Musk in 2002. However, the infant passed away at just 10 weeks old. Nevada lost his life due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
• The billionaire and Justine welcomed a pair of twins born as Griffin and Xavier in 2004. After losing their first child the pair turned to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to grow their family.  Xavier legally changed her gender and name to Vivian Jenna Wilson in 2022, just days after he 18th birthday. She distanced herself from her billionaire father and took on her mother’s maiden surname.
• In 2006, Justine welcomed triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian also using IVF. This means Justine is the mother of six of the billionaire’s eight children. Justine and the billionaire got divorced in 2008.
• Grimes and Musk welcomed their baby boy X AE A-XII, affectionately known as baby X, to the world in May 2020 after the pair had been dating from 2018. So, he is currently three years old. The musician and billionaire announced their split in September 2021.
• The pair secretly welcomed their baby girl together in December 2021 via a surrogate. This was revealed during her Vanity Fair cover shoot when the reported heard the baby wailing upstairs and Grimes was forced to reveal her daughter.
• In July, Business Insider reported that Musk secretly welcomed a pair of twins with Shivon Zilis in November 2021. According to court documents seen by the publication – the billionaire and Zilis filed a petition for the twins to have their father’s surname and their mom’s surname as their middle name. This means the twins will turn a year old this month.
