First anniversary of Nelli Tembe’s death: AKA and his mom speak out
Rapper AKA and his mom Lynn Forbes have spoken out on the first anniversary of his former fiancée Nelli Tembe’s death.

South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known by his stage name AKA, posted a tribute to his former fiancée Nelli Tembe on the anniversary of her death on 11 April 2021.
AKA: ‘I PRAY FOR THE HEALING OF YOUR FAMILY’
AKA remembered his former fiancee Nelli Tembe a year after her death on 11 April 2021. AKA first went “Instagram Official” with Nelli in January 2020. In July 2020, AKA revealed he had COVID-19 and Nelli had been taking care of him.
The Fela in Versace hitmaker surprised fans in February 2021 when he revealed he proposed to Nelli and she said yes! The rapper paid lobola for his then bride-to-be in March 2021.
It was just two weeks later that Nelli had tragically passed away. She was on holiday with the rapper in Cape Town when she plunged to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel. AKA has remembered his former fiancee over the months as he grieved her death.
This morning (11 April) which marked a year since Nelli’s passing, AKA posted a tribute to her. He mentioned that he is praying for the healing of her family and hopes they can one day come together and pay respects to the memory of Nelli.
“I’ll remember this day for the rest of my life. 11/04/2021. Everyday I pray for the healing of your family and my family. I hope one day we can all come together and pay our respects to you and your memory at the same place and at the same time????,” the post was captioned.

LYNN FORBES PAYS TRIBUTE TO NELLI
AKA’s mom Lynn Forbes commented on the post. She said she is also praying for the healing of both families.
“It’s been the most difficult year, time heals but the scars will remain forever. I wish I could take your pain away, Kiernan, I continue to pray for peace and the healing of both families. I’m grateful for all the love and support we have received in the midst of the pain and the daily challenges we face ❤️????????,” she wrote.
Lynn also posted a photo of Nelli with a touching message about praying for the healing of both families.
“11.04.2021. May your soul rest peacefully Nelz ????. It’s been the most difficult year, time heals but the scars will remain forever. I wish I could take your pain away, Kiernan,” she wrote.
She went on to say she was grateful for all the support they have received.
“I continue to pray for peace and the healing of both families. I’m grateful for all the love and support we have received in the midst of the pain and the daily challenges we face❤️????????,” she continued.
AKA has since moved on with rapper Nadia Nakai.
