‘7de Laan’ fans encourage actor David Rees to not give up

7de Laan actor David Rees’ publicity manager, Corlia Strauss has thanked South Africans for their continuous support and has revealed the actor is not improving.

“David is still in CCU, not doing as well as we hoped. The family is very concerned about his situation and appreciate all your kind messages, prayers and support”, said his manager.

‘7DE LAAN’ FANS ENCOURAGE ACTOR TO FIGHT

Fans of the SABC2 Afrikaans soapie 7de Laan took to social media on this week to wish actor David Rees well after his publication manager shared on his Facebook account on Wednesday, 16 August that the family is concerned about his situation.

Valerie Hugo: “David Rees don’t give up my friend! God is with you every step of the way! My prayers and the prayers of all who know and care for you are with you, carrying you through this valley! Lots of love to you and your loved ones! Staan Sterk jong!.”

Danica Adams Champion: “Dear Lord I come tonight and ask you to be with David. Heal him with your holy and healing hands. I know Lord you will you are the healer. Amen.”

Ingrid Wiehahn: “Love you so much my cousin. God has you in the palm of his hands…He loves you so very much.”

Yvette Van Rensburg Riekert: “Praying for a complete and speedy recovery. We ask God to keep his loving hand over you in this difficult time, we trust he will carry you through this and that you will get stronger every day. Love to you and our precious family, wish there was more we could do.”

DAVID REES: MEDICAL AID

Brielfy reported that 7de Laan actor David Rees’ sister Michelle Buttle has pleaded with South Africans to assist the family with the medical bills.

His sister added there was a misdiagnosis of an ulcer at a public hospital she decided to move him to a private hospital with a cardiology unit.

“David is not on medical aid, and I’ve had to cover accident fees, doctors’ bills, scans, and blood tests. The costs are mounting daily, and he will likely be hospitalised for some time. However, he is receiving excellent care.”

Buttle reveals that her brother’s condition is still critical, he’s in a lot of pain and fighting bravely and the family launched a BackaBuddy (crowdfunding page) to raise R500 000 for his medical bills. The public had donated over R84 000 so far.
