AKA and Costa Titch nominated for African Muzik Magazine Awards

Late rappers AKA and Costa Titch have been nominated for the 10th African Muzik Magazine Awards (Afrimma).

Costa Titch was 28 when he collapsed and died while performing at the Ultra Music Festival at Johannesburg’s Expo Centre on 11 March this year, while AKA was shot dead outside a Durban restaurant on 10 February 2023.

AKA was nominated for his posthumous album Mass Country, as well as in the Best Male Southern Africa and the Album of the Year categories.

Costa Titch scored three Afrimma nods: Best Male Southern Africa, Best Collaboration and Video of the Year.

Set to be held at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at Meyerson Symphony Centre in Texas, on 17 September, the 2023 edition promises to be the best and biggest to date.

Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the awards platform recognises and celebrates notable musical works and artists across the African continent.
