3 for 3: Blaq Diamond win ANOTHER case against Ambitiouz
Controversial record label Ambitiouz Entertainment has lost its third court case against Afropop duo Blaq Diamond.

Afropop duo Blaq Diamond – made up of musicians Ndumiso “Ndu Browns” Mdletshe and Siphelele “Danya Devs” Dunywa – have won yet another court case against their former record label Ambitiouz Entertainment, making it their third win.
ANOTHER VICTORY FOR BLAQ DIAMOND AGAINST AMBITIOUZ
On Friday, the Summer Yomuthi hitmakers’ lawyer Jade Naidoo took to X (formerly Twitter) to write: “Congratulations to my client Blaq Diamond for winning against Ambitiouz Entertainment for the third time! Ambitiouz’s leave to appeal is dismissed with costs! Round three in the bag.
“Of course special thanks to Adv Ngcukaitobi SC for showing up and working is magic as per usual.”

INTERDICT AND CONTRACTUAL DISPUTE
In October last year, the music group dragged Ambitiouz to the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg as the record label was threatening to delete their YouTube channel account.
At the time, Ambitiouz had removed Blaq Diamond’s hit song Qoma (featuring Big Zulu) from YouTube.

In addition, the interdict was to prevent any further copyright or ownership battle for their songs IIanga and Fireworks with any other digital streaming platform such as Spotify, iTunes and Deezer.
According to Sunday World, the popular record label said that the duo “unlawfully” terminated its contract and continued getting paid for gigs behind the stable’s back.

Blaq Diamond’s first contract with Ambitiouz was signed in 2017 and renewed in 2020 before the group left the company in January last year.
Blaq Diamond won their first court battle in June, with Naidoo telling SowetanLIVE that the next step is to declare their contracts invalid and unconstitutional because they are exploitive.

“They are not getting payment for their music that is used in advertising and other platforms. In other words, my clients were working for free. They have three contracts; for publishing, artist management and exclusive management agreement.”
The Love Letter singers won again in August.
