Springboks fans are questioning the Rugby World Cup colour blindness policy after South Africa’s match against Ireland on Saturday, 23 September. This after viewers complained that the colours of their kits clashed on television screens.

The Boks were defeated by their rugby rivals 13-8 at the Stade de France stadium.

KIT CLASH RESULTS IN SORE EYES

On Twitter or X.com, many Springboks vs Ireland game viewers complained that the teams both wore clashing kits.

Irish players wore mint green jerseys and white shorts, while South Africans wore white jerseys with a hyper jade collar and matching shorts.

The colours seemed too similar for ordinary viewers who expressed their frustration on social media.

@IsabelZA: “Just saying, if the jersey changes were for colour-blind people, it’s not working in this game.”

@captainthwack: “I must be colour-blind because those jerseys are not too far off, and the shorts don’t help.”

@andyjameskemp: “Horrible colour clashes tonight between #IREvRSA. Could they not have picked a better selection of kits?”

WHO WILL THE SPRINGBOKS PLAY NEXT?

The Springboks will play Tonga in their fourth Rugby World Cup group stages game.

The match will take place on Sunday, 1 October. Kickoff is at 21:00 SA time.
