‘Haaibo Checkers’: SA puzzled by R44 ‘floating strawberries’
South Africans recently took to social media to confront popular retailer, Checkers about their ‘floating strawberries’ sold for R44.

Popular retailer Checkers trended on social media this past week when a South African shared a video of them selling a cup of what she called “floating strawberries” for R44.

‘HAAIBO CHECKERS’
The TikToker @IblameLeo was baffled as to why the retailer Checkers would sell a cup of strawberries floating in a cup for R44.99.
In video, the social media user zooms into the price, R44.99 displayed below the odd product and asks: “Haaibo Checkers. 😭😭😭 floating strawberries?,” asked the TikToker.
The video, which has been viewed over 400K times has had South Africans wondering if the strawberries are inside a cup of jelly or water?
Reevolutionaree said: “Is that water from the fountain of youth?”
Sunshine.in.my.world said: “Looks like tap water.”
While another social media user simply revealed: “Nah it’s either an experiment or someone left it there as a joke.”
