‘Cleansing money’: SA reacts to shocking R93 000 alcohol bill

South Africans took to social media to react to the shocking R93 000 bill spent on booze during the festive season.,

A patron surprised Mzansi this festive season when she revealed her R93 000 bill at a South African restaurant and said the waiter was tipped over R8400.

‘THIS IS CLEANSING MONEY’

South Africans revealed on social media that the R93 000 bill is probably cleansing money after the social media user @Tamaswati Nqobile Dlamini revealed on her Facebook account that her “guy friend” paid the bill.

Sbusiso Nkosi said: “This is a cleansing ceremony.”

Simphiwe Sgalamba Mthethwa agreed with him and said: “Iyona vele (it is) it needs to be spent otherwise nyoka (snake) won’t be happy.”

While, Guilio Del Fava said: “Looks to me like a new form of money laundering.”

The bill also shows that the waiter was tipped R8459.10 and the total amount was R93 050.10 at the unknown restaurant.

The bill also reveals that the patron spent R35 000 on ten Veuve Yellow, R14 400 on four Veuve Rich, R14 300 on one Aces Gold, and R17 200 on 2 Henessys.
