2022: Here is what Nostradamus predicted would happen

For 2021, Nostradamus warned us of a zombie apocalypse and an asteroid that would wipe out planet Earth. What does he have in store for us in 2022?
Luckily for us, the “prophet of doom” missed the mark on his infamous eerie prophecies this time around (or so we would like to believe).
But with the new year literally on our doorstep, his predictions have been unearthed and placed in context of the world’s current climate . And while we’d like to take them with a pinch of salt, we’re ready to admit that they’re more than plausible.
NOSTRADAMUS PREDICTIONS FOR 2022
INFLATION AND CANNIBALISM
The French astrologer revealed in his 1555 book, Les Prophéties, that 2022 would witness alarming price hikes for consumers around the world. As such, many would resort to cannibalism to ease their hunger pangs.
He wrote: “So high the price of wheat. That man is stirred. His fellow man to eat in his despair.”
ROBOTS TAKE OVER THE WORLD IN 2022?
Nostradamus wrote of the rise of artificial intelligence: “The moon in the full of night over the high mountain. The new sage with a lone brain sees it. By his disciples invited to be immortal. Eyes to the south. Hands in bosoms. bodies in the fire.”
While you may be rolling your eyes at it all, Elon Musk doesn’t think it’s that far-fetched.
The tech guru has developed a robot in humanoid form, whose prototype will be available early in 2022. The robot – named Optimus for now – has been created for the purpose of “eliminating boring tasks”, previously undertaken by humans.
At some point, Musk even claims the Tesla bots will fill in the gap of a shortage of labour and do wonders for the economy.
Sound like the rise of robots? Even I, Robot actor Will Smith thinks so…
NUCLEAR EXPLOSION
Nostradamus predicted that a nuclear explosion of epic proportions will trigger severe climate change in 2022.
He wrote: “For forty years the rainbow will not be seen/ For 40 years it will be seen every day/ The dry earth will grow more parched/ And there will be great floods when it is seen”.
Last month, US General John Hyten told CBS News that China was armed and ready to launch a nuclear strike on the US, at any given moment. This, after it emerged that China had already tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile in August that “circled the globe before speeding towards its target”, claimed the New York Post.
CRYPTOCURRENCY
Nostradamus signaled that cryptocurrency would rise in popularity in 2022.
He wrote: “The copies of gold and silver inflated/ Which after the theft were thrown into the lake/ At the discovery that all is exhausted and dissipated by the debt/ All scripts and bonds will be wiped out.”
That doesn’t seem like such a tall order given the financial trends for cryptocurrency in 2022.
