Zadok is an award-winning South African musical director, artist and producer who contributed to Lil Nas X’s head-turning performance at the BET Awards on 3 July 2021.

Controversial singer Lil Nas X stole the show with his performance of his chart-topping single, Montero (Call Me by Your Name), which was and was ranked the No 1 performance of the night by Billboard.

LIL NAS X APPROACHES ZADOK

The talented musical director was approached by the Grammy-winning artist’s team to be a part of the performance after Lil Nas X himself discovered a Lil Nas X cover Zadok did earlier this year. Zadok had been in communication with the team since January.

The performance boasted an Egyptian influence, but also drew inspiration from Michael Jackson’s Remember The Time. Lil Nas X was joined on stage by six dancers who absolutely smashed the performance.

“Any honest creative in the SA music industry will tell you how much it can take out of you, so I really don’t take such moments for granted”.
