‘Young, Famous & African’ returns: 5 bombshells from season one

Netflix announced that Young, Famous and African will be returning for a second season. Here’s a look at five bombshells from season one.

1. ‘YOUNG, FAMOUS & AFRICAN’: KHANYI ON DAUGHTER’S VIRGINITY 

Young, Famous and African was off to a controversial start with actress Khanyi Mbau revealing that she encouraged her daughter Khanukani to lose her virginity whenever she wants to.

“We allow Khanz to be herself, if she wants to try stuff, I mean anything… we let her try it. Cause we want to see who this person is,” she said. 

“But then where do you draw the line? What happens when she’s curious about sex at 15?” asks Andile.

“Virginity can be lost or it can be stolen. So lost is when you are ready and its a boy you think you are going to marry, you give it away. You love this guy, you are 15, you think you are going to marry him… you give it away,” Khanyi continued.

2. ANNIE’S ‘YOUNG, FAMOUS & AFRICAN’ BOMBSHELL REVELATIONS ON MARIAGE 

Another bombshell was Annie Idibia revealing that her first child is her husband 2Baba’s fifth child. So, he had four children outside their marriage and there are rumours of a sixth.

“When you meet someone and you know them first and then you wake up to two different people having babies for him. And then he has five kids with other women,” she said. 

“My first child is his fifth and I met him before everybody. So, you know what that is?” she continued. 

“You know how many humiliations and embarrassments? Damn and I was like how do you repeat the same mistake twice?” she added.

The pair however renewed their vows at the end of the season.

3. ANNIE VS ZARI: ‘HOW DO YOU KNOW MY HUSBAND’

4. SPARKS FLY BETWEEN ZARI AND ANDILE NCUBE 

Zari is Diamond’s “baby mama” but there were sparks flying between herself and Andile Ncube. 

5. NADIA CONFUSED OVER RELATIONSHIP WITH DIAMOND EARLY IN ‘YOUNG, FAMOUS & AFRICAN’

Diamond appeared to pursue Nadia Nakai at the beginning but then he was all “lovey dovey” with “baby mama” Zari. This was after he took Nadia car shopping… but she was in a relationship with American rapper Vic Mensa.
