MOTSWAKO’ ENDS

SABC2’s head of channel Gerhard Pretorius confirmed to Sunday World that the long-running talk show Motswako, which is produced by Carol Bouwer will air its finale show on Thursday, August 25.

Pretorius also told the publication that Motswako offered the viewers a platform to freely express their views on social, apolitical, and economic challenges facing the country.

“It created a much-needed influential and inspirational space to actively engage a wide spectrum of issues that directly concerned South African women, such as HIV/Aids, gender equality, rape, and gender-based violence,” said Pretorius.

“Combined with light-hearted infotainment on art, beauty, and fashion, the show captured a contemporary celebration of women from all corners of our nation. The SABC2 is immensely proud of the road that Motswako has paved over 21 seasons.”
