Mzansi boy Trevor has sold off his fancy Bel Air home less than two years after buying it. Does his new love have something to do with it?

Trevor Noah has reportedly sold his swanky home in the upmarket Bel Air neighbourhood of Los Angeles for a cool $21.7-million (around R355-million) less than two years after buying it for $20.5-million (R335-million).

And, while that sound like a decent profit is a short space of time, US-based entertainment publication Variety cautions that this “shrinks significantly” when taxes and various other costs are factored in.

Also owns a Manhattan penthouse

Noah’s current main base is a $10.2-million (R167-million) penthouse apartment in midtown Manhattan in New York, from where he has been presenting The Daily Show during the pandemic.

Variety says that at this stage it’s unknown whether Noah intends to buy another property in the LA area.

The buyer of the property is also unknown, as their identity is hidden behind what is known as a blind trust. According to the publication, which examined official property records, it was a cash deal.

Previous home in quiet cul-de-sac

“Located in the upper part of the hillside Bel Air neighbourhood, on a quiet cul-de-sac shared with a handful of other homes — none of them owned by celebrities — the ex-Noah digs were newly completed in 2018,” Variety reports.

“The house packs in more than 10,000 square feet (929 square metres) into an exceptionally long and narrow mansion, with a total of 5 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.”

Could the fact that Noah has a new lady love in New York have something to do with it?

Gossip channel E! News reported recently that he has been spending a considerable amount of time at his apartment with 40-year-old Minka Kelly, an American actress who has a dazzling string of acting credits to her name.

She is perhaps best known for her current role in Titans, a TV adaptation from the DC comics universe. She’s also featured in several Hollywood films, including 500 Days of Summer and Just Go With It.
