In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak revealed that their album An Evening With Silk Sonic is almost complete.

Unfortunately for fans of Silk Sonic, Mars and .Paak will only release the album in January 2022. The pair says they made this decision because they wanted to put out more singles before the release of the album.

“We’re really in touch-up mode now. We’ve got the bones of most of the album, so it’s really about touching up parts that need a little more… Grease”, said Mars.

Anderson .Paak shares that Silk Sonic became a passion project for him and Mars during the pandemic. In creating Silk Sonic, Mars and .Paak had time to play their favourite songs for each other.

“I’m not sure we would have done it if it wasn’t for the pandemic”, said .Paak.

The pair note that some of their influences include legendary jazz musicians, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis and Aretha Franklin.
