‘The Wife’ actress Mbali launches wine brand Moments

Mqhele would be proud of his wife. Mbalenhle has ventured into the wine industry and she says this move was inspired by her character Hlomu.

The national wife Mbalenhle Mavimbela who plays the character of Hlomu on the Showmax telenovela The Wife has launched a wine brand.

The brand is called Moments and speaking to Drum Magazine, Mbalenhle says the wine is inspired by Hlomu.

“Moments is basically inspired by Hlomu. It is not farfetched for a restaurant owner to have a wine range too. Even the name Moments comes from wanting people to feel like they are sharing their moments with me,” she explains.

MBALENHLE’S LOVE FOR WINE

The actress says she has always had an interst in wine but things just never aligned for her but they have finally aligned.

Mbalenhle says she frequents Cape Town nowadays so that she can learn more about the wine industry.

“I am not just the face or the ambassador, this is my product. In addition to all the research I am doing while here, I am also trying to foster relationships so that I can have long term partnerships that can grow from this,” she says.

“I am first introducing the red wine and next year I will launch the white wine. What I particularly like about Moments is that it is great for everyone to enjoy, not just the ladies. Men generally do not like sweet wines and so with Moments, we were able to strike a balance and it’s in the middle,” she told the publication.

The wine that will be available in merlot and a red blend will be available for purchase next year online. If things go well for Mbalenhle, some restaurants may have it too.

“I am even in talks with liquor outlets to have it sold there too. I am really excited about this,” she told Drum.
