EVERYTHING YOU NEED

According to MyBroadband, you can access 100 free channels on your DStv decoder by changing only a few settings. The channels are accessed through the satellite used by DStv, Intelsat 20.

While it is not a DStv service, the channels are accessible even without a subscription.

The publication reports that the channels require a satellite dish and an LNB pointed at a dish. You will also need a dish that supports DVB-S, DVB-S2 modulation and MPEG4, which are all available on modern DStv decoders.

WHAT NEW CHANNELS CAN YOU ACCESS?

There are a few interesting channels to be accessed on the DStv networks. The only sports channel available is Sports Connect, which mostly offers coverage of soccer from Turkey, and South America.

There are also religious channels that can be accessed and television stations that are only found in retail stores across the country including PEP and Game.

As per MyBroadband, Openview HD channels are also shown but you can’t access them without a decryption key from an Openview decoder.

HOW TO ACCESS THE FREE ENTERTAINMENT

Using your DStv remote, navigate to the settings menu and clock on additional networks, where you can access all the networks connected to your decoder.

It is encouraged to leave your network 1 settings as they are used for DStv and change your settings for networks 2 to 5 using the MyBroadband settings.

After the decoder scans your settings, you should be able to access the channels through “All Channels” in the browsing menu.
