Ariana Grande has shared her love for South African artists by adding several of them to her new Who Runs The World Apple Music playlist.

It features the likes of Prince Kaybee, Busiswa, Nadia Nakai, Boity, Rogue, Moonchild Sanelly, Msaki and Sho Madjozi, who gained international acclaim with the single John Cena.

Ariana Grande includes biggest musical inspirations

Ariana also included tracks from her biggest global female inspirations like Britney Spears, Mary J Blige, Janet Jackson and others.

But it was her support of local musicians that set the internet aflutter. The exciting move prompted Busiswa to give Ariana Grande this shout-out on Twitter:

Apple Music Bosses Give Local Artists A Special Mention

Speaking about the artists featured on Ariana Grande’s playlist, Apple Music’s editors said:

“This is the next generation of empowerment anthems from South Africa and across the world. With lyrics that challenge ideas around gender, sexuality, beauty and self-confidence, these artists are modernising mainstream music.”

The playlist is made up of about 100 songs. It also includes songs from Donna Summer (Last Dance), Miley Cyrus (Girl’s Night Out), Taylor Swift (Shake It Off), Cyndi Lauper (Girls Just Want to Have Fun), Alicia Keys (Superwoman), Blackpink featuring Selena Gomez (Ice Cream), and Gwen Stefani (Hollaback Girl).

Additionally, Ariana delighted fans in February by releasing a deluxe edition of her Positions album. The newest offering includes all the original tracks, the 34+35 remix and four previously unreleased songs — Someone Like U (Interlude), Test Drive, Worst Behavior and Main Thing.
