The City of Cape Town Electricity Generation and Distribution Department will be doing infrastructure maintenance in Hout Bay, which will result in an eight-power outage.
The critical maintenance will be carried out on Wednesday, 28 February.
The City of Cape Town said the electricity infrastructure maintenance will be carried out for the second time on Wednesday, 28 February from 8:00 to 16:00.
The maintenance was first carried out on Wednesday, 21 February, from 8:00 to 16:00.
“City teams are carrying out important maintenance to critical power infrastructure and this maintenance work ensures a reliable electricity supply for residents in the area. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused,” the municipality said.
Furthermore, the municipality warned that the electricity supply could be restored at any time, and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the entire duration of the interruption.
Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
