Eskom has implemented load shedding Stage 2 due to improved generation capacity and sufficient emergency reserves. The power utility said in a tweet that the move is due to lower demand in the country. “Due to improved generation capacity and sufficient emergency reserves for the week ahead, Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00 today until 05:00 on Monday. Thereafter, loadshedding will be suspended from 05:00 until 16:00. Stage 2 loadshedding will resume from 16:00 until 05:00 on Tuesday.,” said Eskom. Eskom pleaded with the public to switch off non-essential appliances to reduce the demand, especially between 17:00 and 21:00. Load shedding Stage 2.
