City Power has cautioned that its ability to respond to power outages may be compromised due to impending thunderstorms and the potential for localised flooding. The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for possible severe thunderstorms in North West, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, with predictions of heavy downpours in the central interior of the country. Isaac Mangena, the spokesperson for City Power, has stated that these weather conditions could pose challenges for their technicians in reaching outage locations and carrying out repairs promptly. Mangena emphasized the impact of adverse weather on their network, as it often leads to higher electricity demand.
