Masandawana have won the PSL in eight of the last 10 campaigns, with Bidvest Wits in 2017 and Kaizer Chiefs in 2015 the only sides to break up a total monopoly for a decade. Starting with Cape Town City, as many as seven PSL sides could give Sundowns a guard of honour as they play out the remaining matches of this 2022-23 campaign.

Sundowns have been the dominant force in South African football for the last decade. Now, they’ll receive a guard of honour from up to seven teams this season because of how early they’ve wrapped up the PSL title. Downs boss Rhulani Mokwena could potentially make eleven changes, if he wanted to, and still put out a very strong side to face Cape Town City tonight.
