The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has confirmed its deployment in support of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in four provinces. This comes as over 20 trucks have been torched and high density operations continue through roadblocks, stop and searches. The defence force confirmed that its members have been deployed to Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State province. Meanwhile, a multidisciplinary team assigned with investigating the attacks and burning of trucks made their first arrests in Mpumalanga. Two truck drivers and a third suspect were arrested at their place of residence.The first suspect was arrested on a farm in Piet Retief with the assistance of a private security firm and the second suspect in Ermelo.
