South Africans across the country were feeling a little let down when they were forced to return to work on Monday after celebrating the Springboks World Cup victory this weekend. This is because President Cyril Ramaphosa had promised SA a public holiday if the rugby team won the final match but then reneged on this promise citing that the country’s matriculants were starting their final exams. Addressing the matter during Monday night’s nation address, he announced that the holiday would be on the 15 December this year. This has however been frowned upon by South Africans and Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema who has called it a “fake holiday”.
