Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has issued a stern warning to Police Minister Bheki Cele, saying his days are numbered. In a video clip circulating on social media, Lesufi accused Celeof failing to recognise the Gauteng crime wardens, known as AmaPanyaza. Lesufi urged Cele to give AmaPanyaza power to carry guns, protect people in townships, and chase away criminals. A total of 6000 crime prevention wardens were deployed in townships earlier this year in order to help fight crime in Gauteng.
