The five most popular malls – by foot traffic – in South Africa for the period January to October 2023, have been revealed. According to Lightstone, four of those are to be found in Gauteng. Of the 20 busiest malls in Mzansi, 14 are located in Gauteng, four in KwaZulu-Natal and two in the Western Cape. In terms of average shopping time, that honour went to the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town (105 minutes), while the Mall of Africa and Sandton City / Nelson Mandela Square both boasted an average of 90 minutes.
