Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena was emotional after his club won the African Football League (AFL) on Sunday afternoon. The Brazilians defeated Wydad Athletic 2-0 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium to win the overall tie 3-2. Goals from Peter Shalulile and Aubrey Modiba were enough to see Masandawana lift the inaugural CAF AFL title in front of 50 thousand fans. Mokwena, who was emotional after the match, thanked his players and the fans for the support. “Congratulations to this amazing group of players. I’m just very lucky to be their coach,” said Mokwena in a post-match interview with SABC Sport. “It’s for the fans, the Yellow Nation, and for this magnificent group of players, the technical team, and the chairman. Unbelievable support he has shown to me.”
