Over the last three financial years, more than 140 MILLION Rand was paid into the Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu told Parliament that 75000 deceased beneficiaries received grant payments over the last three financial years. Zulu revealed details in response to a written parliamentary question from the DA’s Jacques Smalle. In her response, Zulu admitted to the mounting problems facing the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa). On Friday, the DA said it noted Zulu’s excuses regarding the 141,556,000 Rand in social grants that have been paid to deceased recipients over the past three years.
