African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has opened a case of crimen injuria and defeating the ends of justice against Thuja Capital CEO Mthunzi Mdwaba after he accused him and three other ministers of soliciting a R500 million bribe. Mbalula opened the case at the Sandton Police Station on Thursday, 9 November. In an interview with TV channel Newzroom Afrika, Mdwaba said Ministers of Finance (Enoch Godongwana), Employment and Labour (Thulas Nxesi) as well as Higher Education and Training (Blade Nzimande) approached him through intermediatries demanding R500 million for a R5 billion tender deal he tried to secure with the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
