The two former G4S employees were arrested on Monday 01 May in connection to the Thabo Bester prison escape saga. They were already dismissed by the company by that time, and were arrested at their place of residence in Bloemfontein. The pair will appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court this morning. They will be facing charges of assisting Thabo Bester to escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice.

The team investigating this case have so far arrested eight suspects and cannot rule out the possibility of effecting more arrests. The Department of Justice and Correctional Services has given G4S 90 days to wrap up everything at the Mangaung Correctional Centre.
